Mercato on Byron is a lifestyle complex unlike any other in the Byron Shire,
employing the latest in sustainable design and a sensuous mixture of sunlight, stone
and timber. More than just a shopping centre, Mercato on Byron is an eco-building
that embraces and espouses green living, and leads the way in Australia’s innovative
development landscape.
Featuring a Woolworths supermarket, a nine-auditoria Palace Cinema and a handful
of speciality retailers. Inspired by Byron Bay’s culture, Mercato on Byron is proud to
have achieved the much sought after, Green Building Council Australia Five Star
Green Star Retail Centre Design v1 2018. Jonson Street is just minutes from the
town’s south entrance and is the town’s most central retail district.

Amenities & Services
The parent’s room and accessible toilets are located on level 1 of the centre, behind Surfit Gym. Mercato also offers accessible parking spots located on Basement Level 1 adjacent to the Woolworths Direct to Boot service. These spaces are wider than standard parking spots for added convenience.
Where We Are & How to Get Here
Mercato on Byron is located on Jonson St, one of the major North – South local traffic
routes in Byron Bay, which connects Byron’s iconic Main beach with the major retail core.
Travel By Bus
For all train and bus timetable inquiries, contact 131 500
or visit the Transport NSW website. The main bus stop
is located on Butler Street.
Best access from the centre is via Railway Park.
All complaints regarding bus stop locations and
services should be directed to Transport NSW.
Travel by Taxi
Mercato has a dedicated taxi rank just outside the main
entry near Bed Bath N’ Table.
Byron Bay Taxis are the local taxi company servicing
this area (Ph: 6685 5008).

& Parents with Prams
Mercato offers accessible parking and ‘Parents with Prams’ parking spots located on both B1 and B2. These spaces are wider than standard parking spots and close to each centre entry for added convenience.

The Mercato car park has a height clearance of 2.20m.
If your vehicle exceeds this height, there is surrounding
paid street parking, subject to availability.

- Scan the 12-digit barcode at the boom of your Woolworths receipt

beyond 2 hours from the time of entry.
Palace Cinema
Palace Cinema customers can enjoy
3 hours of free* parking

Parking Payments
Pay machines are located at the base of the moving walkway Basement level 1 parking and the
second located adjacent to the elevator on B1 parking. Payment can be made via Tap n Go. We
do not accept cash payments for parking.
